Highly knowledgeable about Northern Tanzania parks and ecosystem, Isack joined Duma in 2006 and has more than two decades of safari experience. In addition to his in-depth knowledge of Northern Tanzania's big game, Isack is also an excellent birder and can identify most plant species in the parks. Isack has visited all of Northern Tanzania's parks, as well as Selous, Ruaha and Mikumi in the south and the Usambara Mountains and Amani Nature Reserve in the east.
Isack most enjoys tented camp safaris where one can hear the sounds of nature while eating dinner and relaxing around the camp.
His favorite bird is the very rare Narina Trogon, which he has seen in Lake Manyara and on the way to Ngorongoro Crater.
One of Isack's favorite sightings to watch on safari is when the wildebeest circle Lake Ndutu when on safari. They enter the lake, make a circle and then come back to the shore so they can cool off.
Isack is originally from Mwanga in Kilimanjaro Region. He lives near Arusha town and is married with four children.
Client praise for Isack
"Isack was fantastic. Not only did he pick a perfect itinerary for us, where we saw the Wildebeest migration as well as an extraordinary number of predators, but the level of service he provided to us was outstanding. His knowledge surrounding the area, its history, the animals and their social behaviour, the birds and even the plant life was amazing - there wasn't a single question he couldn't answer. He also has a deep respect and love for the animals and for nature and conservation which we really appreciated, particularly as it didn't seem to be shared by some of the other Safari company drivers! Isack has the eyes of an eagle and one truly special thing about our safari was the fact that he was able to find the animals on his own - he had an uncanny knack of knowing where to go - rather than having the radio on and constantly chasing around after the other tracks. This meant that we had the joy of discovering things for ourselves rather than being surrounded by other people all the time. We also loved the fact the radio was never on, which meant we could relax and enjoy the drive as well as be entertained by Isack's amazing anecdotes and be educated about the animals rather than be constantly irritated by the chatter of the radio. Some of his stories we will be dining out on for years! The truck was always spotlessly clean each morning and it was clear that Isack takes great pride in his work. He is a real asset to your organisation."
"As we reflect on our wonderful African experience we know we owe a great deal to the Duma family of staff. It was a collaboration of many aspects but the unifying feature was our wonderful guide, Isack. It was him that imparted the respect for nature and the magnificence of the Serengeti. He is a quality individual with a vast knowledge of the habitat of the animals and a genuine love for what he does. He passed this on to the four of us and thus enhanced our experience of the safari."
"It was an awesome trip and Isack made a huge difference and had enormous impact on the overall success."
"Isack was an outstanding guide, with psychic powers and superhuman eyesight. His gentle demeanor, and comprehensive knowledge were central to our positive experience."
