Godwin Emanuel's Biography
Godwin Emanuel started working with Duma Explorer in 2009 as a mountain cook. He joined Duma after working for two years as a mountain cook with another company. Prior to cooking on the mountain, he worked as an assistant cook at The Arusha Hotel in downtown Arusha. Godwin completed a cooking course at Mollel Tourism School in 2004.
Godwin's main responsibilities as mountain cook include creating menus and preparing meals, ensuring there is an abundant supply of drinking water, overseeing the dishwasher and waiter, serving snacks and keeping track of mountain supplies. Godwin uses gas cookers to prepare his mountain meals.
Godwin enjoys working for Duma because the budget for shopping is always enough to ensure he can prepare his favorite dishes. He also likes Duma's customer service as a whole.
Godwin advises that climbers try to eat a lot on the mountain to give them enough energy to reach Uhuru Peak.
